As most of you will be first time readers of my new sports blog I should start with a quick introduction. I am a college student at Wabash Valley College who is Majoring in Broadcasting. Primarily sports broadcasting as I have grown up playing basketball and football my whole life. Now your probably wondering what gives me the authority to rank these players. About the same as you, I love sports and love talking about them just as much.

So first I will give you my pool of QB’s I am choosing from.

  • Arch Manning
  • Drew Allar
  • Carson Beck
  • Lanorris Sellers
  • DJ Lagway
  • Cade Klubnik
  • Garret Nussmeier
  • Sam Leavitt
  • Luke Altmyer
  • Dylan Raiola
  • Nico Iamaleava

So you may be think that I have left some players off, and may have people on the list that shouldn’t be, but I promise I have reason.

So who is the first person out? Lanorris Sellers. You can not overlook his intangibles. He is an amazing athlete and is a great arm talent. He takes the Gamecocks offence and makes it very dynamic with his ability to escape the pocket and extend plays. The problem I have and why he is left out was kind of like Anthony Richardson. In 12 games he only threw for 18 touchdowns. He had 7 picks too. He makes some very simple mistakes and sometimes hurts his team with turnovers as he led all college QB’s in fumbles with 11. You can not deny his talent and the fact he is a amazing player. I expect a big leap from him and in December we could see him in some Heisman talks.

The top 5

5. Garret Nussmeier

Insanely talented, amazing arm, and has the it factor. He is the definition of a Gunslinger. He has 29 touchdowns to 12 interceptions last year and that is my problem. He is exactly what I said a Gunslinger that is going to make throws where you wonder what did I just watch and then he will make a throw and you wonder what he saw. He just forces throws and I think once he becomes a more poised passer and settles down he will prove me wrong.

4. D.J Lagway

He is about to go into his second year as the Gators starting QB. He will be better than last year. He showed so much potential last year that it is impossible to rank him any lower. DJ did have a turnover issue last year but almost every true freshman Quarterback I have ever seen especially one that is starting in the SEC will have that problem. DJ has what I call the it factor to him where when he throws the ball it just leaves his hand differently. He will have a sophomore leap and is another guy who could be in Heisman talks.

3. Arch Manning

Why so Low? Limited tape, he only has 3 real games of experience and none of those teams were real powerhouses, but it is in impossible to look over his natural ability to throw the football. He can put a on a string and makes hard throws look easy. He is so poised in the pocket and has a feel for when to bail out when he senses pressure. He is such an amazing athlete too, he is 6’4 225 pounds and had a top speed of 22 mph this past year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes this Texas team on a CFB Playoff run next year.

2. Drew Allar

In his two years of starting Drew Allar has been amazing. There is no true flaw in his game. In the last two years in one of the toughest conferences in all of sports he has thrown 49 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. He is 6’5 238 and is a true pocket passer. I believe that this is going to be the first pick next year and he is gonna prove a lot of people wrong.

  1. Cade Klubnik
He is the best returning player in all of CFB. He had such a underrated season last year because we watched Cam Ward and others play so well, but after his 36 and 6 season we need to look at him as the top dog. I have said a lot that these guys could be Heisman finalists but this is my preseason Heisman. This will be his third year running the show at Clemson and after this year he will be in the talks for all time great Clemson QB’s.
